Changes

Hi!

First and foremost I want to say thank you for visiting my website! I appreciate it!

There are a lot of changes happening in my life at the moment and it is all very exciting.  I have been working on some illustrations quietly and building up a body of work. I have also taken some time out to learn new new techniques and develop my style.

I will let you into a little secret, I turned 40 last year and very unexpectedly,  it threw me a bit . And I started to think differently about things and my focus changed. I don’t know whether this quite common or it is just me. But I am happy to report that I am very happy that I am now in my forties! If anyone reading this has gone though the same , feel free to leave a comment . I would be really interested to hear about it.

What has all of this got to do with creating art and illustrations? Well, I recently figured out that how I am feeling really affects my creative process. And with all of these ” i’m forty – eek” thoughts running around keeping my head busy, I needed a break and try out some new techniques and different forms and art. It was so much fun and I loved every minute of it. But after a while I felt drawn to do what I feel comes much more naturally to me. It was also a great opportunity to do some interior designing in our home and get it exactly how we wanted it. Something that has been on the to do list for a long time.

All of this has now settled and I am feeling so focused and motivated now . Sometimes change and even though age is just a number, it throws us a bit. But I feel like I have come out it so much more sure of myself and determined.  x

Here is one of latest illustrations, watercolour and ink.

I live in Scotland and I love all things creative. When I am not being creative, I love to visit new places, read and go for long walks in the countryside.
